There is plenty of stuff on their albums during that era that isn't "best ever". It's very rare when ANYONE puts out an album full of great, terrific, never want to skip even one track songs - unless you happen to be a big fan of course and that changes things. But I've skipped plenty of songs on all those artists 70's records It's very subjective as to what the quality of his output was as compared to their's.

John and his output was very close in the Beatles, what do you mean "song for song"? The only album that John really overdoes him by quite a bit is A Hard Day's Night, on the other hand you can't deny that Paul's songs there are really top notch(And I Love Her, Can't Buy Me Love, Things We Said Today).

Band On The Run is not McCartney's best album!

But it is one of them!

Band On The Run is one of the best albums of the 70s.
It rates with the great classic rock albums of that period.

The song Band on the Run is one I have never liked and have had to suffer listening to it on FM and other feeds in stores, wherever it's been played. I hope to never hear it again.

A triumph from start to finish. Packed with energy, verve and invention, it's easily his best album of the '70s (sorry, Ram fans), and among the very best Beatles/solo records of all. In fact, one of the best albums I've ever heard, period.

Love all the songs, but Jet, Bluebird and 1985 are probably my favourites.

One of my favorites of his solo career.
    An essential listening.
