Well I bought it because of this thread... in truth while I love the Beatles, dug some of Wings and liked a few other McCartney solo albums, this one was just dated, popish, jingly and a little disappointing for me. I get what it is. I'm not saying the production or song structures weren't well crafted. It just didn't say anything.

I'll wait a week and try listening to it again to see if it grows on me.

I thought he was back. The songs where simple, direct and adventerous. Like the old Paul ( or younger Paul)

This album in my opinion is like the best parts about Wild Life, McCartney and RAM. Experimental but very down to Earth and personal.

While I prefer NEW, this album is really has the spirit of younger Paul..

Can I just say I've been playing this one in my wife's car lately and it's THE BEST album by an ex Beatle period!!

This album in my opinion is like the best parts about Pipes of Peace, Press To Play, and Driving Rain.... Wait a minute. Those albums do NOT have any best parts.

    Never mind ... ;)

And I'm still trying to figure out why he doesn't play it in his own car.

What is it supposed to say? He made the songs up as they were being recorded.

I think I've said it before Arnold. You've got a lot of extra time on your hands!

    Guys. Lifelong Passion. Come on.

Give me love, love, love, love...

    Make my lifelong passion!

The lyrics are so pure, the sound is soaring, it has the Beatles harmonica sound that started it all, and the instrumentation intro/outro recall Strawberry Fields Forever. In fact I could make a playlist of it, It’s All Too Much, Strawberry Fields, it would fit right in.

Anyone know which one sounds better - the original 2008 vinyl release or the 2016 remaster?
