The part right before the chorus sets in on Hey Jude is awesome. The orchestral climax inDay in the life right before Paul section comes in is also awesome. The twist and shout climax in the middle the song is also awesome.Which one is your favorite musical climax?

I much prefer Hey Jude lyrically and melodically, but A Day In The Life might have the greatest musical climax in the history of recorded pop music, so I vote for it! :)

The climax of A Day in the Life may be more satisfying artistically but the climax in Hey Jude can still make me tear up after all these years. And actually it’s not the climax itself but that momentary expectant pause that does it. Just brilliant. Personal and universal. I vote Hey Jude.

"A Day in the Life", musically. It scared me when I was a kind, in a good way, it was exiting. "Hey Jude" is good too, but more like a social gathering.

Thanks for including the build-up in Twist and Shout. That might be my favorite excerpt in the entire catalog and was probably a factor in the launching of the mania. They might not have written the song, but previous versions certainly didn't sound like that.

A Day In The Life has often reduced me to tears. It seems obvious to me, and gets my vote.

    None of the above.

The End is their best climax, IMO.

If limited to just these 3, then I vote for the chair squeak on A Day In The Life.

Otherwise The End is the best end...

Musical climax it's probably A Day In the Life. Now if your question had been for emotional climax, I think Hey Jude would win that one.

ADITL is probably the greatest album closer of them all. Simply astonishing. That last note always gives me chills

Helter Skelter, if I get multiple. Every time McCartney goes "AND I SEE YOU AGAIN YEAHHHHHHH!"

From these, A Day in The Life though it's actual proper ending is a bit poor.

Which was bettered even further in my opinion, at the end of the rare LONG version of Billy Joel's "Sometimes A Fantasy"

I have to be honest and admit that this thread's topic has me a little confused, as I can't imagine if one is talking about great Beatles songs climaxes, just how "The End" or even "Hello Goodbye", for that matter, are not listed as choices? For me, it would easily be the end of "A Day In The Life", as who else before this song, did well ..., "that"???

    A Day in the Life.

I think Hey Jude is ruined by too long an ending.

I'm not even sure how you can compare these songs, their aims are so different. For me, the climax "A Day in the Life" is the most powerful artistic statement, though it's not necessarily something I reach for all the time. Honestly, I've always found the second half of "Hey Jude" to be a bit tedious.
