"Six Blade Knife" got slashed. One more must go today. Vote your next weakest link.

Discussion question: The kid next door hears yo blaring this album out your window, likes it, and asks you about similar artists and albums. What would you recommend to the kid?

One blade for tearing me apart..........................

    Six Blade Knife (Round 3)
    Southbound Again (Round 2)
    Setting Me Up (Round 1)
    Lions (Round 1)

Maybe tell him to investigate some JJ Cale or 70’s Eric Clapton.

I'd recommend Jethro Tull's Crest of a Knave. Most tracks sound like Dire Straits with a flute.

"Sultans of Swing" once again for round 4.

    I see a lot of similarities with J.J. Cale's 1976 album "Troubadour".

Wild West End should reach it's end.
I would recommend JJ Cale and Tom Petty.

I'd tell the eavesdropper to get some more Dire Straits. And some Steely Dan (cause I love them as much as Dire Straits).

Great answers. I need to pick up more JJ Cale at some point. I only have Naturally.

In addition to all the spot-on recommendations that have been posted so far, I’d recommend Thin Lizzy. I think their combination of talky vocals, technical but tasteful guitar playing, and catchy folk rock melodies puts them closer to bands like Dire Straits than any of the hard rock bands they usually get lumped in with.

Sultans of swing. Bought it when released. 40 years later still play it almost weekly but skip that song. Just too commercial.

Snowy white is an incredibly great guitar player. Listen to the work he did with Peter Green.
