I couldn't find the full frame for this one, but it was in Marvel's What If #34, and the caption was something like 'What if you had to sit behind The Leader in a movie theater?' Always cracked me up.

I think the biggest deal I ever got on something from the '60s was also my biggest error... I got it for 80 cents when I was buying anything obscure or unusual; perfect, shiny, new comic... then later sold it with a big box of others (so unknown what I got back but probably not so much more)... little did I know A-Man of all things had been resurrected and was hotter than all heck... but I found out a few weeks after that box was sold! Aargh. On the plus side I doubt they ever refurbished the Immortal Man or it might've been a double Aargh. If they have I don't want to know.

I can't tell how many times i read and re-read Asterix's when i was a kid. I actually knew them well enough to go to the library and get them in english and learn some basic grammar and vocabulary. I'm pretty sure my old brain couldn't pull that off anymore, though.

[IMG]Changing times: I was recently hospitalised and while I was in my boy brought me some of my old comics to read. Haven't seen some of them in over 40 years. It was a lovely nostalgia trip, reviewing a bygone way of story-telling.

I was stunned when I saw one particular panel in a Green Lantern/Green Arrow mag. The word 'darkie', back in '71, while still viewed as a slur, it was - in my country anyway - quite mild. Same as if someone of colour called me 'whitey' at school, it was water off a duck's back. It didn't hurt. Now I saw the word darkie in a comic and it was like a face-slap.

The other panel too, while not singular, was still very memorable and thought-provoking.

Or some of the mid-range Python stuff. Yes, we laughed......

  21. From a comic book called "CARtoons". George Trosley drew lots of things but this one is great, and pretty normal, from a car guys perspective.
The hidden gem in the old garage. There are many fun things in this image if you look close enough.
