Hmmm. The movie is merely visualizing what the album is about. Not sure what could be expected other than a depressing movie. I saw it in a theater on Leicester Square in London and was quite blown away (literally, as the theater had a fantastic sound system). But I didn't expect a happy ending of course.

Ok. Well, when it was coming out, anticipation was high. The movie theater (I think the Fox in Westwood, Ca) was a grand old theater and it was packed with lots of UCLA students and general WLA youth. A packed house with a rock concert energy. Opening night, first showing, prime time.

Yes, we should’ve known better as we knew the material very well. Big fans. We just didn’t think it would be so relentless and negative. I’ve never had a desire to ever see it again. And I still play The Wall regularly.

It was a downer, almost humorous in how it soul sucked the audience. But...you know, Roger and all...

I was there too! They should have handled out rusty razor blades at the end so we could slice our wrists.

Could only watch it once. And I love Floyd

I was there in late July 2004. Here is a picture I took with a closer view of the lake. It's a scan of a analog picture I took so the colors are a bit off.

The only person associated with the film that I've met is Jenny Wright, who played the groupie in this scene.

    She signed my DVD copy:

Megalike. Must have seen them about 10+ times at The Old Waldorf in San Francisco during the 70's. They were a great club band.

Took some digging but it looks as though it's a 1976 HP 9825 computer ($5900 back then) with the HP 98032A Parallel I/O Card sticking out of the back.

    OLD-COMPUTERS.COM : The Museum

Even has a dedicated website: Home

Clues which led me to this: Wendy talks about a "HP computer", the photo was taken in 1986 and she says that the HP computer was 10 years old at that point.
