ToTo Man, I wanted to own that Yamaha CR-1000 so badly at one point, it was almost an obsession. And then to see it in a system where the other option is a CR-2020, well, I'm just floored. Simply floored. :righton:

How do the two compare in sound?

Thank you all for your kind comments :).

Gregg, the CR-1000 and CR-2020 are both fabulous units. The differences are minor, but IMO the CR-1000 is more 'analogue sounding' with a richer/creamier mid-bass and midrange, while the CR-2020 is leaner and more transparent/detailed. But please take these comments with a pinch of salt as neither unit has undergone an overhaul and so still sport all of their original innards (capacitors etc), therefore they may not be operating entirely to spec!...

Have not checked out this thread for awhile so checked out thread 10 and was blown away by Wardswebs multi room systems. Has he added one to the bathroom yet. Anyway here is a video of my mancave.

Yes I just put them there quickly for photo purposes just after I re-waxed the cabinets. They are usually spaced bit further apart and forward and on raised concrete blocks...

I have added a secondary system in our family room - small intimate room with a fireplace, 2 comfy chairs and a love seat...that's it.

It's completely polar opposite to my main listening room - which is 2 channel, vinyl, etc.

This is all digital - Denon DRA-N5 with Monitor Audio Bronze BX2's. The receiver is tiny as it doesn't contain any FM tuner or cd player. Just streams from my iMac cd library or 1000's of internet radio stations. It works flawlessly which was a nice surprise - theory and application don't always meet up!

Sorry for my pics - I'm no photographer! The speakers are towed in slightly in real life!!

ps - I hope this works!
