That's about what the speaker cables cost! :) Yeah, US $8000 is a little high, but man do they sound good!

I'll bet. But I'd want to point them sideways just so I could look at the cabinets.

Thank you. They are so shiny that it's hard to get a good photo without reflections in it!

Picture of almost complete Daedalus Argos speakers. Speakers should be completed and shipped in about two weeks. They will replace my current towers, and then some room treatments.

Got rid of a bottleneck that were these Russian metallised poly's, replaced with Hovland Musicaps :)
Much more open now, with more spatial information.
(maybe I'm more 'show us ya' system bits')

I thank you, and Mini thanks you also.

Last night, after living with the speakers for a week, I performed a very minor tweak by simply moving my listening chair back an inch and a half. This slight move snapped everything into focus. I still haven't bothered dialing in the rest of the surround setup yet. I'm too busy with the two channel.

They are a pair of custom speakers I had made by Jay Waxler in Bloomington, IN. I met Jay when I needed work done on my Mac C20. He and a friend, who was a custom cabinet maker, were starting to build speakers. They are loosely based on the Froy speaker kit from SEAS, but in a tower version. They have performed flawlessly for 14 years and will be sad to see them go.

Hey Doc! Nah, still splitting time. In NY right now, but back and forth, sorta, and usually teach Spring semester in Austin when the snow is blowing up here. Good to see ya. (I've been buying those crazy Vertigos). Send me a PM and we'll catch up!

LOL....Isn't it amazing how such a small amount can make such a difference

Now I feel like tweaking speaker placement :sigh:
    :)

Posted this in another thread and thought, why not post it here?

Going to a diagonal setup in a square (12x12) room really made the system enjoyable to listen to again. Probably need to tidy things up as the location of the equipment was intended to be temporary. The diagonal setup was an experiment that went better than expected.

The image isn't showing up here for me. Audiocircle likely has some restrictions on hotlinking. I had to copy the URL for your image, open a tab to audiocircle, then paste the image URL in that tab. That allows audiocircle to think you're viewing the image on audiocircle rather than a hotlink. To display the image here you'll need to use a service like photobucket to host the image.

That's odd as the image is showing up on my screen.

Because it is already in your browser cache.
Now that the image from audiocircle is in my browser cache I can see it here.
