Is that an Anthem D2V and a Denon A1UD? Hard to make out in the shadows. Both very nice bits of kit. How have you got them connected?

 

Correct on both. Denon to the Anthem with HDMI as well as 5.1 analog.

 

Interesting - have you set the Anthem to analogue bypass for the 5.1 input? I found it made a very significant improvement. Would also recommend experimenting with the balanced XLR outs of the A1UD to the XLR inputs of the Anthem.

I am actually sat looking at my own D2V now mulling over whether to keep it!

Listening to The Doors "Waiting for the Sun multichannel SACD today and it's set to AnalgDir.
The Denon XLR outs are just for the FL and FR, went with 5 Transparent Reference 1M RCAs
Started out with the top Denon pre pro but the sound wasn't coming out the way i felt it should in a room with proper treatments and acoustics. Switched to the Anthem and the sound came alive.

 

Not esoteric, cheap as chips, and just the job for a punter that "streams" in order to discover new or forgotten items possibly leading to a physical copy. The little Arcam miniblink.....can stream at leisure from my phone,or via my Mac in an adjacent room..

 

Made a change to the living room system, today. The ProAc towers were bumped out of the main system, so they now bump the Thiel CS.5 speakers out of the living room. These speakers work pretty well close to the wall, but sound quality is a compromise in this room. It’s all hard surfaces other than a 6 x 9 rug.

 

Well....I gotta be forreal.....I was looking all over to see your stash of weed. You must have it stashed in the Heineken box. I dont see a bong, a pipe not even papers.....you hid it really good!

Beautiful and clean setup. Great space. Diggin' the concrete floor. We're getting ready to rip all the tile in our home and finish the bare concrete flooring. Mind if I ask how was your flooring finished/sealed?

 

Brings to mind a Dynaudio YouTube from some years ago with founder and CEO Wilfried Ehrenholtz. In it he says of all the Dynaudio speakers, the C2s were his favorite.

 

I'm the same, I wanted to dip my toe into streaming to sample a music streaming service, but was a little daunted where/how to start. But for AUD $100 the Xiaomi Mi Box S has given me a foot in the door. Great little gadget.

That’s a ‘salt and pepper’ polished concrete floor. The contractor polishes down the concrete to expose a bit of aggregate, then makes additional passes over it with progressively finer grit. The finish is a clear satin sealer.

Rega Osiris, Rega P10, Rega Aria, Harbeth 30.2 XD. I am having some alcove shelves made to put the kit on but this is it for now.

 

Great system and love the wall color! Take another pic when you get the shelves so we can ogle your Osiris.

 

This room and system looks like the London in my American imagination. Very pretty and relaxing. Ah, now for a nice pipe and a pour of whiskey whilst I listen to the BBC Proms.
