I loved that album back in 69-70. Do you have a tt that will play the final song at 78? "Kindly get up and switch your turntable to 78 rpm."
I already have the first 4 albums but, my local recordstore has truly fine citizen, 20 granite creek and live grape. Are they worthwhile?
Very much enjoying the new addition...Marantz 6006(UK Edition)....Being "christened" with some Mingus...."The Black Saint And The Sinner Lady"....sounds sublime
Fantastic. I've played around with dipole subs in simple H-frames ala Linkwitz (single 15" Eminence as well as an unwieldy dual-18" with some Goldwoods) but this is all in another league entirely.
I think "Truly Fine Citizen" is good for those who are into Moby Grape (like me.) "20 Granite Creek" is interesting.........but I can't vouch for the live album.
You’re very close, just click on the picture icon and paste that link into the box that pops up. And....very cool set up you have there. Welcome to the board.
nice! I have the MR78, which I rarely use but HAD to buy it to complete the set. you just can't beat the pretty blue meters. I have an affinity for McIntosh and yes, I know that McIntosh lovers love McIntosh. Period. If I could afford the Mc turntable, I'd grab one! just picked up at VPI Prime Scout though, so I'm happy.
I'm clearly an *****, I can't figure out how to post a pic from my desktop. all the options ask for a link. In the tech world, I think this is an ID10T problem...
@Royce Clouse Click the icon at the top of the new post window that looks like a photo (next to the smiley face) and paste the image's URL (typically ends in ".jpg') into the pop-up window.
@Dennis0675, don't judge it too harshly until you run an outboard phono stage, the inboard one is meh. The line stage and amp section are stellar in my opinion
It’s nice. It’s been sitting at my local for a year and I finally gave in. I haven’t found the situation for it to do it’s best. With the cornwalls I much preferred the tube amp I had connected and then I paired it with some paradigm studio 100’s. It was nice but made me realize I had a much better match for those speakers stored away. That better match did cost about seven times more than the 9090 so no fault of the Sansui. I think it sounded it’s best with my dahlquist speakers, I just need to make a spot to set that up and get another turntable, cd or DAC to have a source for it. An odd thing is that I found I really like the loudness filter on it. With the cornwalls, the Bass was too bloated but but everything else just sounded more clear and open. Very nice phonostage on the 9090 but with the studio 100’s I was getting a bit of harshness on the high end. I was probably asking the amp do more than it was meant for, I didn’t get any of that with the dahlquist but then again the Dahl’s won’t take as much volume before they start to give up. Also... I may be turning into an equipment hoarder.
