It wouldn't be a wise strategy, but if he plays the HiFi at suitable volume he may not hear Mrs @BigGame call for his turn to change the diapers.
So, we recently completed (well, almost completed!) a large renovation project and now our living room has double-height ceilings, with a loft overlooking it (the third picture is a birds-eye view from the loft area). It's all very cool, but I'm just not sure the LS50 are going to cut it anymore. And not sure our post-renovation financial picture will support the purchase of decent floorstanders, LOL.
New additions are the PS Audio DirectStream Memory Player feeding the PS Audio Stellar Gain Cell DAC. Right out of the box the sound is more life-like, detailed and spacious. Burn in just underway.
Don't sweat the small stuff (meaning your LS50's). House is first priority! Down the road, there will be a better opportunity to add some tower speakers. BTW, Beautiful job on the room remodel!
My sitting room, with my TV and front speakers: And my sources (left to right, quadraphonic amplifier, quadraphonic turntable, cassette deck and original seventies remote control, with CD transport above):
There are a lot of moderate budget systems being presented in this thread. And for the more expensive systems, I think it's no so much about wealth but about priorities.
Haha. Can't complain, have my own music room and okay set up. Just need one of those touchy phones to take some photos of it.
