I gotta tell ya, I had to take some heavy duty migraine meds yesterday and I looked at this picture....freaked me right out. I still can’t look at it, so thanks for that.
Those are my favorite little speakers from back in the day when Radio Shack actually sold some nice stuff. They sound great with the 2A3's and the little 8 watt class A they are sitting next to.
The wood horns are a custom pair of JBL 2397 Smith Horn CNC machined from 1" bubinga. They are sitting on top of a pair of JBL C50 Olympus speakers from 1968.
thank God the "tongue" was spared from the cataclysm that sheared the fabric of space and time . Mazzy, any updates on your LP storage room? i remember in earlier pics how incredible it looked.
i Nice! What TT is that? Not the CA Champion you normally display. And what dedicated music server are you using? Thanks.
The turntable is a Roksan Radius 5 that I replaced the plinth with a custom one I cut from 1" bubinga.
So maybe Tannoy Legacy Eaton’s ‘might’ fit after all Anyone else ever make mock ups? I normally do all my planning in 3d, but I just had to get a sense of scale first hand here as they’re SO much bigger than my current Gold 50’s. Now if only the sound fits the room! Edit: always have trouble posting images from my iPad
It’s such a big jump in size though, the room isn’t as big as it looks in that picture. Glad I did as I’d pretty much written them off, but they just about work I think. Luckily I only have myself to please on the aesthetics front. Worth an audition anyway.
I think that is an excellent idea. I like it, and it serves a purpose that I can relate to in the real world. Of course, if I were to do that, I might be to scared to do what I do, given the size of some of my speakers.
As an experimental scientist, I approve your ways... and I really laughed a lot about this picture: when my wife tells me I'm still a foolish boy, now I can surely reply I'm not the only one!!
My latest addition to the Grundig NF-10...a Kara Chaffee modded Pilot Sp-210 preamp with separate PS...and a variac.
