I'd originally bought the Directstream for my Audio Note setup, which depending on how you look at it is kind of the "main" setup. I figured I'd try it upstairs with the Luxman just for fun, but ended up liking the pairing too much. Then I set about selecting an affordable no-nonsense DAC to replace it, but realized I'd just been too spoiled by the PS Audio. Something I really appreciate about using it with the tube gear is I get a remote again - play/pause/skip on Roon without needing to use an app, and the ability to adjust volume without getting up to turn the knob. I'd gotten so used to being able to do that it became frustrating to have to do without it.

Nothing wrong with having two awesome DACs other than the $ haha. I loved my Directstream and the ability to use as a Roon end point. I just switched my Directstream Junior to a Lumin T2 and have been very, very happy.

Messing around with my Dahlquist DQ20's, trying to decide if I want to sell them. Sounding pretty good at the moment, but still too big for the room.

They used to be cream colored, don't know what the hell you'd call it now lol. If I keep them, I'm definitely changing out the grill fabric to black

  18. The only reason I no longer have a mortgage is I sold high in San Francisco and bought low in Seattle :tiphat:

I was very frugal- not cheap- my family was spoiled but they deserved it. As life always throws a curveball health issues and my wife leaving the job market became the perfect storm. Sold much equipment and retired and the money in my fed goverment thrift savings 403 was used to clean up much debt. Its tough but I will always prevail.:pineapple::cheers:. John M.

And you came to Seattle just before they let you get high in Seattle.
