Basements are awesome. Your's looks very comfy, cozy. Never lived in or owned a house without a basement. As an old friend once said, Basements Are For Boys. I concur
I see some Trooper beers up on bookcase! Nice! Have you happened to catch Maiden on The Legacy Of The Beast Tour? I did on August 1st and it was amazing, they are still firing on all cylinders!
No I didn't! They were playing during the week, and in this region, the time of the show and the traffic ruins the entire plan.
I saw the show in Stocholm last year and it was definetely one of the better shows I’ve seen with Iron Maiden out of the twelve I have been to. Sorry you missed it!
with this set up I haven't been able to do that, I have some isolation under the turntable and speakers and so far no issues.
It's been a while since I posted and I have made some more changes. My legacy Naim streamer – a ND5XS – got replaced with the new NDX2, which was soon thereafter upgraded with the XPS-DR PSU. I also upgraded from a HiCap DR PSU for the preamp to the SuperCap DR. With an extra box in the mix I added another Naim Fraim shelf and matched the setup (i.e. number and size of the shelves) between the brains and brawn stacks. Also, Keith Herron was kind enough to swap out the blue LEDs of his phonostage for green ones to match my Naim green lamps. Sorry, it's not a great picture, but my room lighting is a challenge for my poop iPhone camera (and my photography lack os skills).
Seeing you are a "Naim fellow", why don't you have a Stageline phonostage? Do you feel it "lacks" something or isn't up to the rest of their (your) components? I would very much appreciate your view, if you don't mind me asking.
Sure, happy to answer. For one, the Stageline is not the right choice for my system. That's their entry-level phonostage and not in the same league as the Herron. A more reasonable counterpart is the Naim Superline (which is about $500 more than the Herron). I don't have the Superline for the very simple reason that I've never auditioned one. My dealer didn't have one available to try at the time I got the Herron. Besides, the Herron has great synergy with my Naim gear. I suppose I could get my dealer to bring a Superline demo in from Naim N.A. but I have no compelling reason to, and I don't want to pay retail price for one anyway. In addition, I am not one to ever make lateral changes to gear just to try things out. I go more for compelling upgrades to equipment. I've had the Herron for five years and love it. I don't see any reason to try anything else.
