Your Vandersteen speakers are some that I would certainly like to audition for awhile... You have a nice system to compliment them.

If you want full range music, these are some of the best bang for your buck on the used market. They are incredibly difficult to move and setup...be warned.

conrad-johnson GAT preamplifier. my reference for 8 years - others have come and gone - GAT has stayed the course - GATS2 upgrade awaits at some stage.
One of the few preamps with full tape loop - enables easy insertion of eq into playback or pure direct sound - best of both worlds. drives ss or tube amps to their best

My photos always seem to look like crap when I post them on here.
I took one tonight that I think turned out pretty well.

Currently setup with a James Burgess 45/2A3 S.E.T. amplifier, easily interchangeable to Burgess Eiclone 6550 triode monoblocks. A James Burgess tube preamp/phono stage, PeachTree Audio 65SE (serving as DAC), Modified AT1240 TT with AT33EV cartridge and Cardas wiring straight to the Burgess phono stage. Media is also served up via an Otari MTR10-2, Teac 1040Sl, Akai 280D-SS and Akai X-150D Reel to Reel machines, a PC music server with over 25 terabytes of Hi-Rez files, and plenty of great vinyl selections. All playing through a pair of 105db efficient Klipschorn loudspeakers with an 18” Velodyne sub crossed over around 40Hz. Room is 24x20x8.

Will be treating the room in the coming weeks finally. I also have two more bucket list pieces of gear coming. A pair of GPA Altec 604H III speakers, custom crossovers and Stonehenge cabinets and some 300b Thorsten Loesch “Legacy” circuit inspired monoblocks to drive them.

Sorry, but you need to retake those shots, one of the curtain pleats wasn't straight!

    Very nice room.

Weird as I'm now getting room envy :)

DIY your version of this room, straighten your curtains, get the pleats just right and get you some rose colored glasses from the 70's and set back and imagine the possibilities! A bargain at half the price.

I was worried about how the disheveled curtain pleat might be affecting the sound. Please fix it asap and report back !

I made these side storage stands for a client with one slick vintage console, showing off some 78's.
They are MDF with commercial black gloss laminate exterior, matte black interior. Hold 130 LP's each.

The JC5 is fantastic. I auditioned a Krell integrated which was much more expensive but the JC5 + Halo P5 combo is really good. Loads of power in reserve.

The Contour 60s are just loaners. I've just put a deposit down for a pair of Muraudio Sp1's in graphite orange that will take around 5 to 6 weeks to arrive.

I've also ordered the Parasound Jc3 Jr phono stage which should arrive at the same time.

Then no more upgrades, the system will be complete.

Which, in my book is a compliment of the highest order. One of my favorite parts of that show was the set designs.

I like the Vandersteens's! I have had several different speakers from Richard over the years and the factory is only about 35 minutes away from where I live here in central California. Nice!

Thank you. It has been. I had a pair over 13 years ago and had to sell them but I always knew I would get some again someday and I did recently.
