I expect you got some help moving the speakers upstairs. :D

Haha... well, I actually had to remove the horn and the back panel to reduce the weight so two people could get it up the stairs.

Awesome looking setup! May I ask what those speakers are? They don't match any of the speakers listed in your setup Tannoy's maybe?

Yes, sorry, I had not updated my setup information. These are Altec Lansing A7-500W "Magnificent" horn speakers that I recently acquired.

    Indeed.

I bought those prints from Mosaic over 20 years ago. Never had a big enough listening room (man cave) that would fit them so didn't get it framed until now.:righton:

I had to check your profile for the speakers. They certainly are!

We've just moved in last week to excuse the mess but here's my current highly un-impressive setup but after just buying our first house and with a child on the way, i'll have to wait a while until I get some Magnepan's. Still, sounds good to my untrained ear. Looking to change out the CA to a NAD 3020 shortly and the turntable to something altogether better.

Seems you have a Well Tempered Amadeus and a ??? in this rig, wondering about if they sound different? Kind of two 'diametrically opposed' designs ... ultra modern unique arm design vs. conventional? both belt/thread drive though.

The other turntable is a Pro-ject Xtension 10. I like them both. I had the original Well Tempered Classic table a while ago so I am used to the WT table design. The only inconvenience is that is doesn't have a tone arm lift so you have to cue and remove the arm from the table manually (needs a steady hand and not recommended while drinking... I have had an accident or two....).

I really liked the reviews on the WT / Amadeus but these days I need (no, want) convenience! Thorens has end of play auto lift, thinking if I get another TT it'd be full auto ... :hide: :agree:

I agree. In a few more years my hands may not be steady enough for the WT.

    Full circle...

After a few years of experimenting with all kinds of systems I've returned to my first love. Not sure why it took it me so long - it's so good!

Correct. Moved last year. Room isn’t quite as pretty as the last one, but the new house and City (SLC) are major improvements.
