Thanks, it was funny to find a great symmetry between completely random components

That Thorens is gorgeous. Would love to get my hands on a mint TD 150 or 160.

Why are you replacing the tweeters, upgrade or was there something wrong with the originals? Must be quite a hassle as these are ‘uni-q’ (i.e. coaxial) units I believe.

After Much research I fond all these vintage tweeters with ferrofluid drivers just decay. The fluid gets thick or leaks out. If it leaks they just stop working (not my case) when the viscosity gets too high they loose db, between 2-6 depending on the severity. The B&W are the Worst at this BTW! KEF's not nearly as bad so I've been repeatedly told by repair techs. Mine were definitely lower than they should be.

Repairing the NT25 is impossible. Very High fail rate and they are said to get gritty and bright afterwards.

Seas makes a few model tweeters that are milled to fit the KEF Uni-Q coaxial's. I found a long time tech to do the refresh. They are built to be exact replacements in sound. Fingers Crossed.

Hmmm ok, thanks for the info! Indeed I had a pair of B&W speakers that had this issue, but I didn’t think KEF suffered from it as well. Curious on your experience when you get the replacements!

I had a pair of ref. 4’s about 10 years ago, and had to replace one of the tweeters (it was blown by the previous owner). At that point, I was able to source a new one from a dealer, price wasn’t too bad actually.

SOme changes in my system since last time:

Got an Audio Note DAC 1.1x Signature. Absolutely amazing.

Got a Pro-ject Audio RS2 CD Transport...the worst piece of gear I ever got and hopefully I will manage to return it.

Sorry about your transport issues but that AN/EAR/Luxman/Proac combo must sound magical!

I love the color scheme in the top picture. The blue/green color goes great with the lighter (teak?) wood. It's totally my esthetic.

Been meaning to do this for a while. Thought I would share what I call my Wunderkammer as it is not really a man cave as it also serves as my office. Of course, it doesn’t hold a candle to all of the amazing rooms you have shown here, but it does include the prerequisite rug.
