Outstanding photo in terms of color and composition. And that outdoor bench perfectly framed by the window is just...*chef's kiss*!
Man, I really hope to be a photo participant in this thread by summer. What was just supposed to be 2 months has turned into 2 years without a rig.
That thought occurred to me because one of our pre-covid vinyl/bourbon nights at a friends house who had a dartboard. I was, well quite inebriated when darts began. I am one of those people that uses both hands, I write lefty but throw righty. Having not played darts in quite a few years I drunkenly forgot I threw darts lefty and started using my right hand and never came close to the dartboard. I finally remember switched and threw pretty well.
I can’t help commenting ... possibly pull them out into the room a couple of feet? Would lose some bass reinforcement from the corner loading (which they may not need) but possibly gain in soundstaging (space and depth). personally I’d pull them along the diagonal to get a bit more distance from the side walls too. Of course do as you wish! But that’s my take on things. Nice system!
I agree with your ******** sign. I have headphones that sit on a stand that says ..******** Protectors..
Nice room! Two questions, do you sit actually facing the speakers instead of in-between them? Looks like a very hard room so do you have any room treatments? I prefer the looks of a room like yours but my whole house is carpeted with a fair amount of plush furnishings. Great for audio but not my personal taste in decor.
AH! This is actually a view of the full room (8.7m x 4.7m). I seat in the sofa facing the speakers The only accoustic treatment is blinds behind the speahers and odds and ends to break the first reflection. I already have to thank COVID and not having friends over for allowing me to move the glass table from in front of the speakers without a divorce.
Even nicer!! Sadly, the only wood floor we have is in the dining room where this resides: And this: We'll play some old records through the Zenith console but usually stream through a BT receiver that I hooked up to the tape inputs (no tape deck in ours).
I wanted a model like this for years and, one day, a few years back, walked into the local fix-it shop and there it was. All of $125 IIRC and in near mint condition. Even had the original manual!
Had focal1008be, sounded thin for me, maybe my amplification was not up to the level of Focal, was using(still have) Audio note AX-2 along with Totem SKY.
[/IMG] Just upgraded to an EAR 834P and PROAC Studio 115 to pair with my 25 year old Alchemist Nemesis. Van den Huul D502 cables for my Rega Planar 3 with AT CO7 MC. Room to be upgraded too...
I think that's the first time I've seen a piece of Alchemist gear out in the wild, if memory serves the late Tim D'Paravicini designed those? Cool studio I like the to the ceiling media storage.
Maybe colour stain the blocks under your speakers the same colour as the wood of your stands so they don't stick out like...you know what ?
