It's a tossup between Live at Jimmy's and High Voltage 2 for my favorite. Those charts must be something else though!
Went to @scotpagel place today and brought my Monitor Audio speakers along to hook to his system. Listening to this "new" setup convinced me I'm probably going to have to get a tube amp in my system (instead of just my tube buffer). The layering and depth that was added to my speakers sounded incredible. (digital source was used) I'll probably also have to add a sub at some point too for some additional low end foundational lift. (like his) He also re-arranged his room absorption panels and added a new wood one in the center. The entire setup sounded great. Next time I'm over, we'll skip the stereo analyzing and head straight into pure vinyl listening!
Re Maynard Ferguson I would rate the Roulette years very much over the Columbia editions but tastes are different.
If you enjoy Ferguson's work, you should check out (his old lead trumpet player!) work, Wayne Bergeron. As a studio musician, he only has 4 albums to his name, one of them a Xmas record(?). I bought the 1st 2 of his CD's and consider them a double album. Exciting, excellent Big Band recordings!
The turntable has fallen momentarily silent as I demo a used Marantz SA-10 to potentially add to the system. Very encouraged so far! Peter Gabriel 4 SACD sounds mighty impressive, as do a few generic CD's I have played whose vinyl counterparts have masterings that I find awful. Looks like I forgot to put the strings back up on the left speaker....
Generally yeah. Not exactly but yeah. I let Scot do it at his house and he knows how mine are set up there. He came over the other day and listened to them.
Your pic wasn't visible to me until I opened it in a new tab in case that happens to others here it is. Cool posters and nice system!
That PostImage process does not work. Thanks jonwoody. I couldn't get the damn thing to work and my Daughter IT specialist isn't home. To think that I once thought that a Kodak Instamatic was cool.
Lol....gotta say i was pretty pleased with myself the first time i posted an image here...still can't duplicate the process with certainty
Looks like somebody got a very nice Luxman! Is that the 509? Edit to say I just saw your comments about it in another thread. Very nice!
If i lived closer to the border i wouldn’t mind inviting myself for a nice Belgian beer and some tunes!
If I were so lucky to sit on those comfy seats and have a nice beer, I'd probably fall happily asleep.
