    Here is my 2 channel rig in the living room. The speakers are DIY. I still need to veneer them.

    Well, To me the cart is what makes the difference not the table but the actual working condition of the LAB-440 is less it seems to not want to lift and turn off at the end of a record nor set down correctly when start is pressed so I handed it off to my dad and hooked it up to the Marantz 1515 I got him at a garage sale for $8

    Very cool. Does the Manley or the McIntosh power the JBLs...

    Very nice set-up. Do you actually own any furniture? ;)
    Welcome to the Forum.
    The Carver Silvers are smaller than I imagined. Looks like the matching Kenwood integrated below the tuner, and an additional piece of Carver setting next to it.
    It's great to see as much software as there is hardware. Do hope your neighbors enjoy your musical taste. :D
    Again, welcome, SpeakerLabFan.

    the model directly above that one, the CLD-1080, was my very first LD player. i have since moved to my favorite model, that singlehandedly turned me on to LD ten years ago on the strength of it's looks alone;

    Exactly what's inside the speaker cabinets?

  19. Thanks for the comments.

    The Manley + Project Tube Box II SE phono stage is a great match with the JBLs. They are fairly efficient and those Bi-radial horns - (called "Dolly Partons" by JBL engineers) - are great when fed with tubes. The other two sets of speakers are very inefficient and don't really stretch their legs with anything less than 200 WPC, and so they're not a good match with the Manley or any tube amps I have.

    Lol. Yes in the foreground just out of the picture and in the sweet spot I have a sofa and coffee table. Yes, good eye, that is the matching Kenwood KA-8150 integrated amp (both Euro versions with the gunmetal faceplates instead of silver).

    The Carver amp, again good eye, is a PM 1.5 amp 450 WPC used w/ the Carver Amazing Silvers. Both solid state amps are hooked up to the Nakamichi C-5 Preamp, so I can use the Phase Linear Andromedas and the Amazings with the same sources (except phono, since I'm now hooked on listening to the vinyl through the tubes).

    The perspective might be off on the pictures. The Amazing Silvers have three 12" woofers per side with a 48" ribbon, I think they are close to 5' tall. The JBLs monitors are not exactly bookshelfs, I think they weigh ~ 150 lbs. :agree:

    I have a basement system for any late night listening, & great neighbors. Thanks for the welcome. :wave:

    Cool, sounds great. I wish I had those JBLs. I gotta make due with my Studio L890s, haha. Have you at least tried powering the JBLs with the McIntosh gear?

  22. I guess you shouldn't have retired. :shh:
