IKEA halogen lights things up pretty well.

What's behind the equipment rack? Is it there for looks, sonics, or both. It looks cool as hell.

I fell in love with these lights when you posted the photos.
I found stores in Toronto that carry them.
    $440.00 a piece.
One store offered to sell me their last one, that they have had in stock for over a year for $320.00.
I don't love them that much!!!

I use the LED strip type. Dimmable, and many other options too. All for under $20

I have one of these, not glamorous, but quite effective for the price. I liked it so much I bought another one.

Don't have one. Never used one. Never even seen anyone using one, ever. & I've seen a ton of TTs.

Maybe I should get one! :wiggle:

    Would be a good idea.

    But is it really necessary??

I need it to see better while cueing up records. It is necessary for me.

I have an IKEA lamp, but I must say that a) it shows up every blemish and speck of dust, and b) unless i am cueing up the start of the side, it is difficult to see where the tracks are separated. I still use it though; figure that one out!

Home Depot about 15 years ago paid $20 for it> stainless steal with a dimmer. Halogen bulb, I can see the groove and anything on the record surface with this.

LOL mine above is halogen also. Every speck of dust is highlighted even in low light mode. As a bonus it helps heat the room. :)

I point he light at the ceiling (see my pic) which lights up the record surface well enough to see the grooves.

My job recently moved to a new office building and all of our old furniture was being tossed out, so I brought home my desk lamp since I always thought it looked cool:

It turned out to be a $450.00 Italian lamp, I had no idea. They threw a dumpster full of these things in the garbage, I wish I had known sooner what they were, here's a link:

It isn't necessary unless you want to see and effectively brush off the dust that invariably collects on records and unless you have less than perfect vision and need a brighter target to aim at when cueing. In my case, it is quite necessary and I have and use the Ikea Jansjo clip-on.

Just recently added this Tao Tronics LED - 7 levels and very adjustable neck. Minimalist design.
    Works very well.

My vision is quite poor in low light situations. An LED light is not an optiont for me, it's a must. Otherwise I'd probably snap the cantilever right off my cart eventually.

What a crying shame they threw them out! Recently the office where I was working closed, and all the furniture and items were auctioned off or given to the employees. I outfitted my office with a desk and shelves and they're awesome. That is a very cool lamp you got, nice to know it's a designer item.
