I gotta say that this thread is right up my alley. Thanks to AFOS for starting this. I was born in 1978 and spent many hours and days watching MTV in the 90s.

 

One of my favorite songs. Even though this gets a lot of acclaim, I feel it's still underrated. I think it belongs in the canon of great American songs, along with anything George Gershwin or Cole Porter ever wrote (or anyone else you want to pick).

 

Loved this one at the time, still love the song.
