Went out for a wander with my camera at the weekend - the first time I have done this in over 2 years. It was a lovely day, and a nice feeling being out in the sun, just taking images of whatever I fancied without any pressure.

ok, so, just by this image, you know that it is a Beetle ??

a: you know each other. therefore know about the Beetle.
    b: you own/owned one yourself.
c: used some car recognition tool.
    d: a wild (correct ? incorrect?) guess.
    e:...
    ???

the question is: is it a Beetle ?

When you are a motorhead, obscure automotive details permanently etch themselves into memory.

    But, I did have a ‘66 1300 Beetle hardtop.

The door latch is a biggie. The central speedo with vertical openings is uniquely VW. But truthfully, there is only one wing window that wide - a Beetle convertible. The VW Karmann Ghias (both coupe and convertible) don’t have wing windows.
