It's all very strange. I can now see them on my Firefox installation, but cannot see them on Edge on the same system. I also cannot see them on the Android system on my Samsung mobile. Also viewable on Firefox, but not on my Edge or my Android is the final page photograph by @the Mac. Actually, on thread page 28, in the browsers showing broken links no photographs, at all, are visible after your stiched together photograph--which itself is visible everywhere. However (so far at least) there seem to be no problems with photographs on this page following the reposting by @Amnion of your stiched together photograph. I am suspecting some kind of forum software posting glitch not quite dealing correctly, maybe, with your stitchwork even if that shouldn't be the case.
I can't say I understand all the interwebs nuances. I use Postimages. Not sure if that's it or if it's size. I can try reducing memory size before posting in the future. I had it all explained to me the other day on a different thread when someone else had images not showing and I still don't fully understand what is being talked about. What other services is everyone using to upload? If I'm the only one using Postimages then that could be it.
still don't fully understand what is being talked about. --->> welcome to my world. esp when it comes to technology and all that, 80% of the time me is feeling like this: --> always good to know there's others out there who struggle at times with technology, IT, AI,... and who are not ashamed or have their ego in the way to admit it and ask around for help
From what I have seen in this thread, your posted photographs have always been absolutely fine. I'd say Postimages is a fine way to go, and there is no reason to modify your approach...though large stitchwork may be something you should keep your eye on. As far as what other people use, I've long (maybe over twenty years) had my own domain and that's what I use as my posting source. That's not a recommendation, just my particular ways of doing things. Forum software gets to be complicated stuff. It has to accommodate various browsers, devices, and operating systems...and users. To my eye the SH forum software is very, very good. But complex limitations wouldn't surprise me greatly. Probably nothing to really worry about concerning the SH forum software. And there's no reason for you to worry about using Postimages. From what I've seen you are not alone here in using Postimages.
I was having trouble seeing these earlier using firefox on my main laptop. But then it worked on Bing. Worked on my phone and then on another computer it worked. Back on my main laptop, using firefox, I had trouble loading another post on a different thread also pointing to postimages. But now it all works! Very strange. (Never seen this kind of thing before and don't think it's any reason to ditch postimages)
Excellent points DM. I've found some problems seem to be browser/security related. Toss in anti-v/malware/etc. software, and it's really hard to trace at times. You see all sorts of "it's fine here" etc.
The magnificent Boranup Forest in Western Australia was devastated by a wildfire in December 2021. When we visited 10 months later the effects were obvious, but what a totally magical place it is:
I think everyone else must be out with their cameras, gathering photographs so they can further share their particular talents and perspectives. I can wait...maybe. But while no one is looking maybe I'll quietly slip in something of mine... Picture twenty seven With a nod to the very fine 120 roll film (and other format) work by @theflattire this is 120 Kodacolor 100, taken with a Pentax 6x7. Edit: While I was editing, a new post!
