Way back in my broke high school / college days, I had a Pioneer PL-12 with a Stanton 681 circa 1972. Did the trick for a while. Please update your profile to include your equipment!

You're doin' just fine. There are still Boston fans in college?

Here's my forty-year-old JVC JL-A20. I got maybe $75 in it, including cart and it plays very nicely. Vintage is the way to go if you're on a budget.

I just have a couple old Micro Seiki tables, nothing too exotic, but both solid performers ...

Yes it is. I’m a gamer of all ages and decades, especially for Nintendo. I have an:

NES, SNES, N64, GameCube. Wii U, and Nintendo switch, all with original hardware :)

Hey, if it makes ya feel good, who cares what anyone else has got? My kid's apartment has a humble nearfield pc audio setup paired with a fairly entry level turntable as well these days and it actually sounds quite good....The key is resorting to "nearfield" listening/setups when you're budget constrained. It is the farfield listening/setups that guys have around here, which can get expensive if you want it to sound good.

Looks like you have anti-skate and tracking-force adjustments on the turntable.

You, sir, are a scholar and a gentleman. I’m a fellow Nintendo nut. The fact you have all those awesome systems means you can do whatever you want with a turntable setup. :)

Maybe, if I didn’t have just as many records and CDs to buy! I’m fortunate my job pays as well as it does, but I still can’t afford the setup I want lol
