That's absolutely mind-boggling...and then you gotta worry about the condition of the packing box making this thrice circular run! I've had a package pass me by (San Jose) and go 50 miles north to San Francisco, only to eventually make it's way back south to me. But that's nothing compared to the tracking on your pkg. Good luck!

That's nothing--I've had tracking info indicating that my package had entered Florida (you know, the state where I live), only to leave the state the next day and do a week-long lap around the Rust Belt before returning to Florida and consuming a four-day weekend in traveling the final twenty miles or so to my mailbox.

One either has to believe there is gross incompetence in those facilities or there is something on the label or package that keeps making the package return to Nashville for sorting again.

I should start archiving these. Understand, I live in Florida, so when the book I ordered made it to Jacksonville, it was more or less on the right track, until it took an extreme left turn...:

I'll be damned if I can understand it. I've been checking on it almost daily, and I see right now, it's spent the last 9 days in Nashville, and says it just departed, but for where ?
My guy, that sold it to him doesn't understand either. They could've sent it back to him at the return address by now too !!!
This really is the most extreme example I've yet to see.
It's been out there for 16 days now.

I ordered 3 CD's from an indie artist two states over, and they came literally the day after I sent in a query to the artists' store...because it had been a month to the day when I wrote them.

I wrote back, thanking them for their prompt attention to the problem...and the gal in the store, wrote me that night to apologize, and said she'd have them out the very next day, sorry for the wait.

So, I had to write back and tell her NO, DON'T send it, I was writing to thank them for re-sending it so fast...only to realize by this, that, this was the original package, materializing from the Phantom Zone that day coincidentally.

Now I wonder what I'm gonna have to do, if the same three discs (plus an unneeded, "thank-you/sorry" bonus item) arrives in the mail from them, another three weeks from now....:sigh:

    The postal Twilight Zone ...

Any chance there’s an older barcode label on the box, that would scan Cottontown? As in, a recycled box the seller received something in earlier, via usps? Two sorting robots in a loop.

    12/18 7:11 Departed Nashville …. AGAIN!
This record has been bouncing around in and around Nashville for the last 9 days...
Are they that inept that nobody has noticed it stagnating for the last 16 days?

And here's the kicker, TRY to contact somebody to complain to. It's literally impossible!
At this point, I no longer care...…….

Not surprising. Here is a post I placed on another forum earlier this year. Tracking reads from the bottom up.....

I thought you all might enjoy seeing the path my Discogs record has traveled over the past two weeks. I hope it isn't destroyed when it finally arrives. I love the first line in the latest update! We did not move and have had the same incompetent postal delivery person for years. It went back to the seller, he returned it to the post office unchanged and explained the situation and I received it in perfect condition a few days later. My local post office had no explanation why they said we had moved.

    Oh, I am in Colorado.

The postal service losing money is much more complex than most consumers know. Many people have no idea why the Postal Service is in the mess that they are in. Here’s a great article

Nearly a year ago, a James Gang MFSL album, limited edition, numbered, sealed, got lost as soon as it went out. Music Direct literally set aside a second copy for me, giving the first a chance to show up. It never did. I rec'd my replacement, and think about where the first one ended up ?

I just had a package do that weird "holding pattern" thing, from just 2 states away. Last winter, I bought a few cymbals online, and 2 were obviously dropped on their edges, causing dents and a total loss on one of them.

Shipping is both expensive AND sucks.

TWENTY THREE DAYS from Nashville to North Port Fl.!!! There are gopher tortoises that move faster than that!
And strangely enough there was nothing on the package other than my address and a clear unblocked tracking number in plain view!
It did arrive in PRISTINE condition so...….. all is good..
