Postimage lost its domain registration and switched to a different domain. All pics are still there in their new domain, hopefully, but old posts here have the old, now broken, link. Imgur is safe and steady. So far. From Imgur, and try Flickr too which I don't use, display your picture on a page and right-click inside the image and choose "Copy Image" - NOT "Copy Image Address". Then in your comment here, where you want the pic, right-click and choose "Paste". This board software, with its recent improvements, figures it out and your image will or should appear.
PostImage had a huge fiasco where their domain changed from ORG to CC. Consequently, the link to the images needs to be changed to reflect that. What you subsequently tried to post is a link to a webpage instead of the picture itself, hence why it isn't working. Below is an explanation I typed earlier to day for somebody else. ================ That's because you tried to embed a link to a webpage ; not the picture itself. To do that, you need to right-click on the image and copy the image link. Depending on your browser of choice, that command differs. In Chrome, for instance, it's "Copy Image Address". I'll replace the Ts in "HTTP" with Xs so you can spot the difference. Webpage - hxxps://imgur.com/Yx9evM6 Picture - hxxps://i.imgur.com/Yx9evM6.jpg Note that the fact the only difference between the two being the ".jpg" extension is only because of the way *they* are set up. It will be entirely different on other website. For instance, if I wanted to post your profile picture and did the same thing, this would be the difference ; Webpage : hxxp://forums.stevehoffman.tv/members/jkozy88.87290/ Picture : hxxp://forums.stevehoffman.tv/data/avatars/l/87/87290.jpg Notice that after the domain (the ".tv" part), everything else is different. A picture is a file and files have extensions. So you almost always will have the ".jpg" part or whatever other image extension the picture will be in. If you don't and you decide to embed anyway, you'll probably end up with the same sad broken tiny square instead of the pic. ================== Lastly, the image you tried to embed is now hosted on Flickr. I typed how to do this with Flickr elsewhere too. Here's the link to my explanation. REVIEW: Wharfedale Denton 80th Anniversary speakers And here's the result.
But, with all of what you wrote, which is not incorrect, in your comment I just right-clicked the one image, chose "Copy Image", and in this message I right-clicked and chose "Paste" and there it is. You can let the board software do the work now.
True but it won't necessarily work with every host. And then people wouldn't know how to post otherwise. But the copy/paste option is handy when it works. And the explanation will hopefully make sense to some.
Fusion, January 1974. I have too many magazines around, apparently I was reading it at the time and scanned to test pictures upload. I'm glad there is a piece of the cover, that was the only chance to recognize it. For a second I thought that this John Carter's album cover so I remembered.
It is simple and takes about 10 seconds to do. You don’t even have to have an account or sign in to imgur. I would call this beyond lazy.
Hello there Sorry to go through this again . Hope you can help I’ve just got the Imgur app on my iPhone I’ve taken a picture and tried to load it onto a thread and it just comes up as . What am I doing wrong ?
I'm not familiar with the latest upgrades in iPhone... I think that once you have uploaded the photo to imgur, and imgur is displaying your photo, hold your finger on the photo until the menu pops up. From that choose "Copy Image". Then in your post here, at the point you want to insert the photo, hold your finger at that point until the menu pops up and choose "Paste". That should do it, unless something has changed.
Anyone know how to paste a thread title as a link into a post? I’ve seen people do that but cant figure it out.
Just copy the URL of the topic page - the first page - and paste it. This board software shows the thread title instead of the URL. Like this which is this thread: Posting Pictures From other sites or other outside links it can be more difficult.
Eureka, thanks @JohnO A tip there, for those that dont know, use an @ and then start typing the avatar name of the member you want to reference.
