A Gort helped me a while ago. Just click on the url at the top of the page you want to post, Cut, then paste into the thread. It automatically renames it to the thread name

1.Type a word you want to use as a link...like REVIEWS.
    2. Select it.
    3. Click the chain link icon in the tool bar
    4. An address window will pop up
    5. Type (or copy/paste) the URL of the site you want to hyperlink to that word.

    That’s it.

Man, I must be slow because I can't figure it out. I'm so used to sites having a button above that says "attachments" that let you attach a picture directly from the photos from your computer. I guess not so simple.
Copying and pasting turns into [IMG]

Actually, it is pretty simple, you can just paste a picture into your post, but that picture has to be someplace on the internet since this site doesn't have the resources to store images. So most of us just use someplace like imgur to host our images.

I'm using Postimages.org. No matter which size I choose, it pastes to the same size here. Suggestions? Thanks.

Thanks. Yeah, I'm pulling images off the interwebs, and posting them here. So maybe that's the difference.

Still, there are other threads on this board filled with movie stills that are huge. Obviously those didn't come from someone's iPhone.

Are you uploading images from your computer, or from the internet? If the latter, that usually isn't necessary, you can just post the image link here. If you are trying to increase the image size, I don't think the postimage resize option is for that, it's to reduce the size. If you take a picture with your phone, it will generally be very large, way too big for a normal display, and wastes bandwidth when people have to load it since it will automatically get reduced in size for display, so it's nice to size the images for a normal display before posting.

Below is the info from your Aphex Twin image, it's pretty small ...

Thanks for the response. Regarding your question, I am uploading the images from my computer. My steps:
    1) Use Google Image search to find pix of interest on the WWW
    2) Save them to my Pictures folder on my PC
    3) Go to PostImages and upload the file off of my PC
    4) On Steve Hoffman, insert the image. It asks for a URL, and I've been using the PostImage "Direct Link" option, because "Link" didn't work. {There are many other options on the PostImage list. No idea what most of them mean.}

Is there another way to do this? Apologies that I'm so clueless. Although I work in the tech industry, I'm a slow adopter of "new" technologies. So I'm proud of myself for even getting this far. Thanks.

Well, like I said above, if the picture is already hosted someplace on the internet, and provided they allow third-party hosting, you can just directly link it here using img tags around it, or click the little image icon and paste the link....

    Code:
    [img]place image link here[/img]

And often you can just right click on an image, select <copy image>, and then just paste it in your post, it will derive the location and handle the rest.

..I was able to post from Flickr & Imgur.......the key is to generate or obtain the BBcode (from the image hosting site), & copy and paste the same BBcode in the body of your post..

You’ve cracked the code! And your gear setup looks tremendous! I notice the rack is DIY but it looks perfect, what did you use?

I transfer photos from my DSLR to my iPhone that are like 40mb each, that’s not unusual. Even just a regular photo taken with my iPhone can take up the entire screen.
