Of course the last watchable movie in the franchise was Terminator Salvation but that's just my opinion.

It's a thread to discuss movie hits and bombs. Are we supposed to ignore "TS4"?

Ford vs Ferrari looks pretty interesting to me by the trailer. Vidiot did you happen to do any work on this one?

Not much different to the bickering about who sang the ooohs and ahhs or if Robbie Robertson ripped off the band for page after page after page and pretty much anything else IMO. :)

In nutshell big studio blockbuster will not be able to support
the many tentacles of big movie studio ..
What I seen on youtube amateur movies people are making are more enjoyable
than anything a big movie studios.
The creativity is there on youtube and netflix and amazon.
Disney can't buy every movie studio
They themselves while run into rough times eventually.

Yesterday seems to continue to be popular in its second week of release.

Aladdin still has advance reservations going strong. The release date was May 24th.

Again: it's a thread about box office.

Whether one thinks they're too "mature" for animated films is irrelevant.

It'd be bizarre and idiotic to ignore a movie that suits the thread because you think it's for kids.

Unless you think it's "Predicting the Hits and Bombs Among Serious, Sophisticated Films Meant For Super-Mature Grown-ups".

And BTW, Pixar films like the "Toy Story" efforts, "Up", "Inside Out" and others have more mature themes and introspective material than 99% of movies meant for an "adult audience". If you skip them because they're animated, that's your loss...

It's a thread to discuss box office. It's perfectly on topic and logical to "bicker" about how movies do at the box office!

So I keep hearing that Tarantino is quitting directing after Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, but I understand that he is directing a new Star Trek movie?

That's the plan, an "R" rated Star Trek. Google news: Tarantino Star Trek for more information.

Now that would be quite the interesting little film! I would certainly be all in for that, just for curiosity sake.

Seen the trailer to Good Boys a few times now and it seems to want to be the new Superbad for tweens? But its one of those trailers with not one laugh. And nobody in the theater laughed either. Raunchy just for the sake of raunchy isn't funny.

No, he said he would retire after directing 10 films but it is very unlikely now that Star Trek will be the 10th.

IMDB lists him as a Director for 21 films.

I did, and I found he's retiring and he is making another Star Trek movie, hence my confusion.

It clearly takes "Superbad" as a model since it's from many of the same people.

FWIW, I've seen "Good Boys" trailers a bunch of times, and it's gotten plenty of laughs.

I'm not excited about it - the younger kids make this more distasteful than something with older teens - but I'll see it. Maybe it'll be funny!

No, IMDB lists 21 directing credits. That's not the same as 21 feature films.

That said, I'm not sure how QT figures "Once..." is his 9th movie, as I count 10:

    -"Once"
    -"Hateful 8"
    -"Django"
    -"Basterds"
    -"Death Proof"
    -"Bill 2"
    -"Bill 1"
    -"Jackie"
    -"Pulp"
    -"Dogs"

Maybe he counts both "Bill" movies as one? That's the only semi-rational way to get him to 9 instead of 10...

He did direct a movie before Dogs. Maybe he’ll toss it in and call it a day.
