According to Wikipedia, the first single "Stop Your Sobbing / The Wait” was produced by Nick Lowe and recorded at the Regents Park sessions. Rob LoVerde said that Stop Your Sobbing was recorded at the Eden Studios.

Is Wikipedia wrong? Or was Stop Your Sobbing, along with The Wait, re-recorded at Eden for the first album?

This is from the inner sleeve of my original UK LP of the s/t album. Incidentally, it's labelled 1980/1979, and the labels indicate that all tracks are produced by Chris Thomas except for "Stop Your Sobbing", which is, as you say, Nick Lowe. My recollection is that the album was recorded over several sessions split between different studios, but I'm not sure where I got that info....

"Recorded by Bill Price at Wessex Studios
Additional recording by Steve Nye at Air Studios
Mixed by Bill Price at Wessex
Except 'Brass in Pocket ' mixed by Mike Stavrou at Air"

Maybe there is some confusion around "Stop Your Sobbing". The demo version was recorded at Regents along with a demo of "The Wait" based on liner notes in the expanded release of the first LP. The Sobbing demo saw first release on Flexipop and The Wait not until the deluxe version. The B-side release of The Wait was also different than the version on the LP. I am pretty sure that it also differs from the original B side version.

I was tired when I posted. I think there are three versions of The Wait. The demo, the B-Side and the LP version. I am pretty sure that the B-side differs from the "demo".

    Gotcha! :righton:

Is the b-side version on cd anywhere?

Edit - never mind, I see that it's on the Pirate Radio box set.

Just ordered mine from Soundstage Direct and they still have the "old" MFSL single-LP price of $29.99 listed. Might be worth considering for those interested in saving a few bucks (and I know you're on here...). Also added current 10% off code to sweeten the deal.

I'm excited about this one. Seems like this has taken forever to actually happen.

Please let us know how it sounds... particularly "Kid" which
sounded a bit rolled off on the SACD Thank you!
