The scene introducing Munn's character was cut, for understandable reasons (you can find the details online), but it was never re-shot. That's the reason why her character first appears in the theatrical cut with no explanation of who she is.

Black's original ending featured the humans and "old school" predators working together to fight the "new predator" and it took place at night. The studio demanded that Black discard the ending and shoot a new one. Edward James Olmos had a role in the original ending; all of his scenes were cut. I suspect there might have been a scene explaining that Jake Busey was the son of Gary Busey's character from Predator 2 that was cut, as well.

The new / hybrid Predator was one of the things that sucked for me. More Munn would definitely had been better.

Turnaround Somehow heartbreak feels good in a place like this

    New York
The trailer shows the Predator fighting some settlers or colonists on the Great Plains. Maybe they will get into the Predator's Yautja honor code, as the Predators see the settlers and colonists fighting with the Native Americans, and make some double meaning out of the "Prey" title.

Like Alan Alda's character says in Crimes & Misdemeanors, describing his new TV show: she plays a lawyer for the ACLU, and her husband writes for a conservative magazine ... "it gives us a chance to get into some issues!"

Setting this movie in 1719 probably helped with the budget -- they shoot in the forest and open lands. But it means they can't call back "Get to the choppa!" like they did in Alien vs Predator: Requiem (at 1:25)!

    No, no , no.
Not him or any of the other Expendables.
Let's concentrate on the story and not a buncha one-liners rattled off between gun shots.

Maybe, after PREDATORS, this could be the best sequel/prequel of the saga.
PREDATORS is one hell of a movie.

Might rewatch the Predator movies. Apart from the first 2 I can barely remember any of them.

Yeah I believe this movie was in pre-production when Disney finalized their deal to buy 20th Century Fox a few years ago.

Strange that Disney now owns the rights to both the Predator and Aliens franchises. They’ve been crossing them over with the Marvel characters in the comics, which they now also own.

I'd be happy if there are no callbacks, and it's a unique story. The best Predator (and Alien) comic books from Dark Horse told new stories.

The antique pistol a predator gifts to Danny Glover at the end of the second movie was inscribed with a name and the year 1715. I'm wondering if this film will be tied to that one, somehow.

Guessing they won't need to hire Lin-Manuel Miranda for the song...
