Product placement coming to classic films?

Seriously, if this isn't an argument to buy your own physical media I've never seen one...

How product placements may soon be added to classic films

 

Be interesting to see Superman throw Zod into a Pepsi or Mountain Dew sign instead of Coke in Superman 2.

 

Yeah... that's pretty awful. "Newly restored in glorious 4K...with added product placement!"

 

It could be funny in this scene...

 

“I ate his liver with some delicious Goya fava beans™ and a nice chianti”

 

Alarmist headline. Nowhere in the article does anyone ever mention any plans to edit old movies (or television) in this way at all!

 

It works every time.

 

What these B-school types fail to understand is that most people resent being advertised to. And this is not because they are stupid, but because it is difficult to make a person understand something if their livelihood depends on them not understanding it.

 

Obscene but inevitable.

 

I saw this article at the BBC website, and I was revolted by it. It wouldn't surprise me that they start tattooing ads on the backs of newborn babies.

 

That Tab joke in Back to the Future needs an update.
