    Huh? What's the point?

This kind of thing is why I switched to "Record Collector".

Really have to agree with the list. With the exceptions of the Wilburys and Dylan & the Dead

I agree with most of the list, too. I do like some songs on "Thank You" "Dirty Work", and even "Bruno", though.

Stupid list. I mean, the Spice Girls and Vanilla Ice and the like---sure, but there are some very passable albums on that list.

Didn't Q just give Duran Duran their Lifetime Achievement Award a couple of years ago at their big awards show? The original lineup performed and everything. Makes no sense...and hey, Elvis Costello, Dylan and others had very nice things to say about those covers done by Duran on the THANK YOU album. Lou Reed said their version of "Perfect Day" was better than his own...and it is an excellent track!

I had no bones with the list for the first 49 titles (since I also don't own any of them)...but Beck's Midnite Vultures? What!?! I love that album...it isn't O'Delay but it's some serious, adventurous and busy retro folk-funk.

The Paul Simon album has some good tunes on it. A stupid list IMO...

"neither fish nor flesh" is an absolute great album.
difficult yes - but not bad.

  11. I fully admit liking some of Some Gave All. "Could've Been Me" is nothing to be ashamed of.

An OK list of bad records for the most part. Worst of all time? For the most part, hardly. Most are simply disappointments or examples of artists phoning it in, but not necessarily all-time evil.

And the appearance of some of these records on a worst of all time list is ridiculous on any basis, including those I've quoted above. None of these are among my favorites by the respective artists (well, perhaps with the exception of the Kiss album), but none are "worst of all time" by any stretch of the imagination.

    What's wrong with these albums?

    4. Lou Reed – Metal Machine Music
    16. Spice Girls – Forever
    23. Alanis Morissette – Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie
    31. Stevie Wonder – Woman In Red
    44. Kiss – Music From The Elder
    49. Neil Young And The Shocking Pinks – Everybody’s Rocking
    50. Beck – Midnight Vultures

These are my personal favorites from the list.

Nothin on there that I "love". There's one or two that aren't bad, but generally, for this kind of thing, it's fairly on target. Of course, there are probably 1000+ other albums that could be on that list as well.

That's why these things are stupid, really.

How did they overlook Twisted Sister? Wilburys Vol.3 is not Vol.1, but it sure doesn't belong on the list

These submissions have more to do with expectations and timing of the release as it pertains to the artist, rather than the music. Incredibly pretentious.
Otherwise you'd have a list of records most people would've never heard.

And by the way Tin Machine II is the best thing Bowie has ever done.
    That's right, you heard me.

The inclusion of Dirty Work on this list is a particularly tiresome example of rock critics latching on to some idea and repeating it ad nauseam. Is Dirty Work the Stones' best album? No. Is it one of the fifty worst albums of all time? Not even close. I wonder whether the writers who compiled this list have even listened to Dirty Work or Emotional Rescue or any of the other Stones records that are just universally assumed to be bad.

The inclusion of Midnite Vultures on this list is a complete and total joke - that album is as good as anything else Beck has ever done.

And Emma Bunton (Baby Spice)'s last solo album was a totally solid Bacharach/bossa nova 60s-sounding disc. Again, I doubt the compilers of this list have ever heard it.

They did the same thing with Wings "Back to the Egg" To the point that the man himself even bought it.

This is a good example of why I stopped reading Q. I seem to remember Oasis' Standing On The Shoulders getting an all-out, over-the-top GLOWING review from Q back when it was released. They should make a new list of the 50 Most Inaccurate Q Reviews Ever!

Neil Young? I liked that record! Cool videos, too.
Haven't heard Traveling Wilburys Vol. 3, so I reserve judgement, but I really liked Vol 1!

And WHY do people keep trashing Dylan and The Dead???? I've heard a lot worse, and sometimes I still give it a spin.Jerry put out a 2 cd live set ("Jerry Garcia Band", 1991) that is much worse, and boring to boot!

There are a couple of great tracks on Standing on the Shoulders of Giants. Be Here Now was the true train-wreck for Oasis, and that album is still nowhere close to one of the worst records of all time.
