Just signed up for a trial; got it connected to my Bluos app which streams through my NAD preamp with bluos module; sounds very sweet. Goodbye prime HD and Bezos. One big difference I’ve discovered between the 2 services is the clarity; With Amazon, the amp volume had to be dialed up whereas with Qobuz the clarity could be reached at lower volumes
The gapless playback resolved itself a few days after I posted this and has been fantastic for a month - then in the last couple of days it is back again. Tried Dark Side of the Moon (probably the most famous gapless album, could have tried side 2 of Abbey Road I suppose!) and the microsecond gaps are back, totally ruining the experience. Same with classical works. Have been through all the settings, upped the buffer size, lowered the streaming quality - no impact. Sorry to be a bore about it but once again any non technical ideas would be very welcome.
Qobuz now available in Australia, New Zealand and a few more countries. Not Canada yet though sadly: Where is Qobuz available?

I just retired last August, and in any case don't really have many of the technical qualifications for this position. But I must admit to hyperventilating reading the job description. When was the last time anyone asked you to list your three favorite albums in your cover letter?! Wonder if they'd accept a volunteer?
Their corporate culture really is about loving music which is good to see. Maybe you should just send them a blank resume with just your three favorite albums listed just for fun.
Qobuz launches high-resolution streaming and download platform in Australia, New Zealand, and Northern Europe
It’s just with Chromecast that there’s no gapless. Seems like something google needs to fix but hasnt for years.
Hi, thanks for your message. No, fortunately not but it took about 5 or 6 emails with Qobux customer service to fix it, trying various things. In the end, I unplugged my DAC and set it to play, the app crashed, and when I reloaded it up to the desktop it was fixed (and back playing through the DAC, which is a Cambridge Audio Dac Magic Plus). But this was after trying almost everything else we could think of. For avoidance of any misunderstanding, it was never a problem played on my iPhone via the DAC using bluetooth. I am sticking with Qobuz, partly because I have to hand it to their customer service people for being patient and not giving up until I was happy. Cheers.
