There are also proposed track listings by the band, written sometime in 1972, that show the same titles as Pete's demo reel, but substituting "Ambition" for "Get Inside".

"Women's Liberation" is an alternate title for "Riot in the Female Jail", btw.

Which is considered the "right" title? Or does a such a thing not exist? I love "Riot in the Female Jail".

"Can't You See I'm Easy" is another killer track.

Not sure if it changed at some point, but "Women's Liberation" is written by Pete on that tape box...

I agree with you completely. Full band recordings of either would be wonderful to hear, but as with "Mary" I don't think there is any evidence that either was recorded by The Who.

I'm not really a fan of either "Ambition" or "Get Inside", so I'm happy those got left in the can.

I think "Can't You See I'm Easy" is better suited to Pete solo. I like the chorus of Pete's singing the title of the song during the verses. It's a very moody song. Of the top of my head, I can't think of anything similar by Pete or the Who.

I'm probably in the minority, but I have always liked Pete's demos better than the full band versions. I was a Pete Townshend fan before I was a Who fan. I had all his solo albums before I got into the Who.

There's a recent-ish version of Pete playing it live on YouTube.

Is " Can you see I'm easy" an early version if " the real me"?

Has the Quadrophenia remix from 1996 ever been released on vinyl? I really like a lot of the remixes that were done for the Who in the mid 90's.

I'm not sure if it has or not, but the vinyl released around the time of the Super Deluxe Edition was the original mix.
