Yep, a masterpiece.
A decent record. It's a bit too poppy and produced for my tastes.
its a 7
Even Groucho Marx liked them
masterpiece. many different song styles....
I get you love it but, where's 1/5 and 2/5?
I think it's 'ab-so-lute'
Groucho Marx into Queen? Wow!
Personally I prefer the earlier albums but it's still damned good!
The album (and the follow-up) is named after a Marx Bros movie
Ohh... now I feel very silly.
They met each other (Groucho and Queen)
Utter masterpiece. And the next possibly more so.
I like everything they did, but these two... wow
Did Groucho play bass ?
It's my favorite Queen album that's not a comp.
Met Brian and had him autograph a copy for me.
Just a 4 on account of being uneven. It does have very high moments though and most cuts are strong.
The unheralded gem is 39.
Loads of people criticise Queen, but who else could have done this?
Full of crap they are!
4 plus out of 5
interesting how Night at the Opera has a light coloured cover art, and Day at the Races a dark coloured cover
Yes!,a very good piece of music.i like all Queen albums, but not one single record it's THE masterpiece;it's the whole body of work, the progression,...the ideas...
From Great King Rat to Innuendo so many good songs.
My dad's favourite. He introduced it to me. Showed me the LP when we went through his record collection, too. Cool stuff!
Next Queen poll will be about "Jazz"
Parts of A Night At The Opera are magnificent. Truly mind bogglingly good. But there are, to my unpredictable D) ears, five complete clunkers which stop it from being a masterpiece so I tend to regard the good tracks as forming side one of my personal Queen Marx Brothers album, with the quality stuff on A Day At The Races which I find equally lop-sided, making up side two.
Well.... "Queen II" had the white/ black theme on one album.
