From Queenonline Forums Great news from Miami tonight at Freddie's birthday party in Montreux (I'm there right now). We'll be getting a boxset for The Miracle sometime next year. He says we'll be hearing unreleased goodies! Thought you all might like that little bit of info. Let the speculations begin!! The Miracle??? Love the album, no doubt, but a 40th anniversary set for The Game would’ve made more sense. That’s more of a landmark release in their discography and it’s a bit late for The Miracle right now.
Huge Queen fan here, but this is without question my least favourite effort of theirs. I happily bought the Rainbow '74 box set (something of a disappointment, with the over-use of vocal auto-tune) and even the patchy News of the World 40th anniversary set, once it went on discount. But this? No way
I'm still waiting for the alleged Killers box. I would get all their albums in 5.1, as for boxes... well it depends.
I like this album a lot but a box set would be a bit much more than what I would want. I would not mind hearing other mixes of The Invisible Man if there are any.
Oh no, not The Miracle of all things they did! It's an OK album, but far from the best Queen. I also don't see much scope for this to be great. There was a lot of non album B-sides from this era anyway and of course, no live stuff to release.
Most things are Sgt. Pepper compared to Queen + Adam Lambert. That said, "The Miracle" is an OK album, just nothing I'm that excited for.
This has potential to be one of the greatest Queen releases if they put the right stuff on it, it might be the first boxset I preorder
There really is no rhyme or reason to Queen's reissue campaign. As many have said, I would love one for The Game. I'd also love one for Hot Space, but accept that I would be in the minority for that one as many people on here are Space-ist
Never saw that coming.! Brian has stated his fondness for the title track, one of his favourite ‘Freddie tunes’ apparently, so maybe that’s (part of) the reasoning. The album’s grown on me over the years, there’s some good stuff on there and I like it a lot more than I did on first listen. It still wouldn’t be top of my wants list but hey, ho. It’ll stand or fall on the quality of the bonus stuff I guess.
What?!! I'd say the worst(and I hesitate to say worst, since there are really no other Queen albums that I would call bad)is A Kind Of Magic.Part Highlander soundtrack.3 of my least favorite Queen songs(One Year of Love..with a sax solo!!WTF?....Pain Is So Close To Pleasure..Friends Will be Friends)
Over time I’ve come to rank The Miracle below even Hot Space as their weakest LP. I imagine due to the production, early takes and demos and such might be intriguing, but... ...why not just do a big vault dump release, rather than including scraps with albums everyone’s already bought? An expansive set of demos and outtakes/alternates would be a pretty major event in the classic rock world, methinks. But a Miracle reissue? Less so.
A box set for their worst album? The decision making process behind the scenes with Queen will never cease to confuse me...
Would like to see the content before speculating on whether I'd purchase. But I don't get the slams on the Adam Lambert touring version of the band. Last I checked, Brian May and Roger Taylor are working musicians who apparently enjoy performing the music of Queen...their music. I know longtime Queen fans who have seen the current touring version and say it is an amazing show. More power to the band for performing, more power to the fans who choose to attend. Not sure why either camp needs to be diminished.
