I always thought that 'Rain Must Fall' sounded like something Boy George would sing. That's ok though, I like Boy George.
Scandal is the best song on the album, tied with I Want It All. Sue me. The title track is not very good and quite clunky. Never understood the constant praise from Brian.
I like the song, but the way they transition out of the guitar solo might be the worst production Queen ever did. Very clunky.
Three crackers on that record, for me: I Want It All, Breakthru and Was It All Worth It? Most of the rest is pretty poor.
Well it’s an 8-disc box set from Queen coming out at the end of the year. It ties in with that listing someone found on a Korean (I think) website that hinted at the contents, and there’s really nothing else it could be. And as I mentioned before, Amazon don’t charge until they ship, so I figured I stick an order in and see what happens!
Does the Amazon listing in that link make any specific reference at all to Queen, though?! It just seems to say TBC... I guess some people really, really want this boxset....
We are saying that his taste in the synth area isn't quite as sharp as the others', so yes, maybe Brian is responsible. I'm not impartial since I don't like Brian as a person at all (for what I, simply a fan, can be able to know about it).
I agree, I'd probably pick those as best. Still, why didn't they use the Single version of I Want It All? The acappella intro is one of the best parts...
I agree on Scandal. Great groove, cool Brian licks, sweet bridge and Freddie slays the vocal. It gives me goosebumps during the "Deeper abd deeper and deeper inside" bit. I like the video too and the surround mix is really nice if you have the Greatest Video Hits 2 DVD.
I like Breakthru very much! WIAWI (sorry for the acronym), in my opinion, suffers a lot from the comparison with The Show Must Go On, as a "career closing track". The main difference is that the former tries hard to make a powerful statement, while the latter simply is that powerful. And the synth heavy bridge is a bit too cheesily overblown for my tastes !
I’m certain that when I ordered the name was showing as TBC, but the artist was listed as Queen. Admittedly now I can’t see that anywhere!
I haven't seen in the 58 pages of this thread whether or not this has been officially announced by the Queen camp. If indeed it has been and they're going to release this, then I remain utterly confused as to why they chose this one of all of their 15 studio albums. I'm not hating on the album or even making an observation about whether the music is good or not – I just can't remember a single person ever saying they they love this album, and my impression was always that the Super Deluxe box set treatment was really only for albums that sold in huge numbers and/or are fan favorites. My recollection is that the nicest thing I heard when this album came out was "It's not bad."
How he behaves since the start. I have always seen many Solo Guitarists as jealous about how the Lead Singer is in the spotlight. Plus, I mean, he has been a little bit of an prick when it comes to "post Freddie" Queen. Not disbanding in 1997 was a mistake to me, it proves his struggle for a spotlight furthermore (it isn't even about money to me). Made In Heaven was another big mistake, Queen + Adam Lambert is a mistake, the biopic was a mistake. I don't like how everything has been going under his guide in the last thirty years, I don't like how Roger has been on his side this long, I comprehend how Deacon doesn't give a **** anymore (I would probably do the same). He just gives me those creepy "I wanna control everything/I'm an obnoxious attention whore" vibes I don't like.
One of only four tracks I can tolerate from this album (the other three being The Miracle, I Want It All and Scandal).
This sounds entirely like you projecting. Everything you're saying here is either an opinion or a guess, unless you actually know those people personally, and it doesn't sound like you do.
