Fun in Space uses synths very well, I agree. May, on the other hand, uses less synths on his solo albums than the other two.
That's exactly what I'd say about it, I agree. That's my opinion, and it's pretty "lackluster" in the "source" compartment. It's a simple projection. Don't we all have those? I think it's legitimate to have one, as long as we don't go shoot the artist like Chapman did. It sounds like you are attacking me, but my intent was to simply state my opinion. I don't know why you reacted this way, once again, it's just a personal take on a forum, there's no reason to begin a shootout for that. If someone here knew Mr May we'd probably know more about that box set.
No, not attacking you. Once again the internet is not great for getting across more nuanced emotions.
Brian seems like a tortured soul. I sympathize with his mental health issues but the way it manifests in his frequent public rants comes across as self-pitying. Then there's the victim mentality behaviour which I find really ugly. Humility and self-awareness would be nice, once in a while. Brilliant guitarist and wrote some fine songs for Queen.
On the guitarist side we definitely agree. I only criticized the person, he's one of my favourite guitarists.
Comparing to what some of you say about the songs on The Miracle, I must say I like this album a lot. It's a pretty decent late 80s album, nothing to complain on my side.
Because things like tone of voice and facial expressions don't happen on the internet, so if you're joking a bit but a little eye contact would help get that across better, the person you're talking to won't know it.
When interviewed before their performance today at the Queen's Platinum Jubilee on BBC2, Roger said in September they are releasing a jam from The Miracle Sessions.
For me it’s a huge improvement over the few couple albums. Works has some good songs but lacks focus and Magic to me is just easily their career low, I can find 1-2 songs I can stomach. The Miracle was a strong comeback, focused, working as a team. Heads all in the same space. Not perfect, nothing after the 70s was…
I guess this just ties in with the links that have been found that looks like a box set release on the way in earlier posts, I guess he's referring to something included in that. Not sure what he means by piecing bits together, could be iffy if just some odds and sods thrown together to make a track
They did exactly that with “Let Me in Your Heart Again” - pieced it together from multiple demos with a few new bits - and I thought that song was fantastic.
Well, atleast there's someone. I'll say again to, this is the impression of a stranger (me), so it is as accurate as analysis without evidence can go. It's cool to see someone does agree with my hot take, it might not be so unpopular as I thought.
They referred to a "gem", not a "jam". Apparently, an "emotive" piece, too... which could indicate Face It Alone ?
Lots of fans have been very negative about Brian (and about Roger as well, at points) on the official Queen forum, over the years.
It seems people think they're owed something because they bought a few LP's / CD's / books once. Save the badgers!
More complicated than that, I think. It hasn't all been about people believing they are "owed" something. Lots of people have objected to how the 'brand' has been steered by Brian and Roger, in terms of things like the tours with (in the eyes of many) questionable choices of lead singer (dubious comments about Freddie's 'favourite singer' being Paul Rodgers spring to mind), adverts for Pepsi with Britney Spears, the godawful movie, and various other things. Brian seems to have taken a lot of the blame, rightly or wrongly, for the above.
