I'm not a fan of colored vinyl (for aesthetic reasons) but i don't think it's a quality issue.
There are a couple of albums i'll pick up when the black versions are released.

Wont people pay attention to what the Beatles and Iron Maiden are doing. FFS.
    What is the point.

    Here's what I've found...

    Turntable features:

The Queen turntable is a brand new product designed specifically for ‘Queen’.

A custom designed high gloss acrylic laminated plinth silk screened with ‘Queen by Rega’ logo.

Silk screened ‘Queen crest’ platter from artwork created by Freddie Mercury.

    Hand built RB101 tonearm.

Factory fitted Rega Carbon moving magnet cartridge.

Low noise low vibration 24v synchronous high performance motor.

    Queen dustcover lid badge.

Optional upgrade (sold separately) is available to the handmade high performance moving magnet Rega Bias 2 cartridge.

This cartridge is designed specifically for the ‘plug and play’ RB101 tonearm mounted on the ‘Queen by Rega’ turntable.

This unique turntable will be available to purchase from your dealers and distributors from the 25th September.

Re Queen II, if they wanted to get creative they should have made the "white " side, white vinyl and the "black"side, black!

Did you read the part about the tapes being screwed?

Personally, I don't care if the source is analog or digital. I really just care about how it sounds when it I hear it.

Bah. I dont buy it. Sure, they would need a lot of work, no doubt. It can be done, they are engineers. Its a cop out, too much effort and $$$. They might be screwed, what the hell would I know...but I dont buy it. "clicks" on a master tape? Thats the edits. They are fixed all the time, Thats what happens when you bake a tape, the edit splices come apart, then you fix em . Its done all the time.

I'm pretty sure the Maiden LP reissues were cut from high res digital. Queen followed the same process more or less.

Maiden singles were digital, yes. Maiden albums AAA.

So, basically we're getting the 2011 masters on vinyl...
Will buy Innuendo for the sake of having it complete. This release has been long hinted on many Queen message boards, and it seems to be nothing really special.

Too bad they decided they had to do new editing in the digital domain, instead of just using the original analog masters and letting the chips fall where they might.

I'd be interested to find out more. It says the set is half speed mastered. Is it confirmed that these are from digital transfers rather than the original analog master tapes? I hope as we get closer we get some more details and of course some actual reviews from those who have heard the set. I might be up for this.

What difference does the colored vinyl make?

None. Black vinyl is actually colored too.

It's the quality of the vinyl used that matters most, not the color.

The big question for me is whether or not the hard limiting/compression shackles have been lifted as they were for The Beatles stereo vinyl box.

That was the only real issue for the Ludwig remasters, the EQing was tasteful and in most cases quite faithful to the original LPs. But there were only a couple that were listenable thanks to the overbearing hard limiting.

....Not that fond of the coloured vinyl. Seems a bit gimmicky.

So are these just cut from the old Ludwig digital remasters or new Ludwig digital remasters?

No disrespect to BL. He did a great job on the recent Born To Run release.

But it's a bit generous to adorn him as the best in the world.

I can think of 5 guys I'd put in front of BL.

    Made ON Heaven??

The Rega seems to be their most basic turntable. The Carbon cartridge is actually a rebadged Audio Technica AT91, the most 'entry level' phono cartridge there is.

Looking forward to these all the same. Probably will pick up a few individual titles.
