The 2015 does have a nicer cover.

Which one did you prefer and why? Is the reissue an improvement over the Fame reissue (copy I currently have)?

I'm not surprised. The 2015 Queen II was the best of the new reissues imo.

How does it compare to the very first UK pressing?

Favourably! I mean... I don't have the same reissue you have, I've got the 2015 remaster as limited double disc on black and white vinyl but apart from the etched b-sides they should use the same master.

I don't rate the very first UK pressing as highly as the ones from around 1976 onwards or the Fame reissue. It sounds duller to me than those. I don't have the 2015 issue.

Thanks - this 1984 Fame reissue of Queen - Queen II sound harsh to my ears.

You might prefer the first pressing then. It's not so harsh but I feel at the expense of some of the top end and Queen II is a detailed and intricate album. I do agree with the Fame being harsh, but I've always perceived Queen II to be a harsh album anyway (the heavy songs) so it works for me!

I did love the original Fame CD. I don't have it anymore but would like to hear it again and compare it to the 2011 remaster.

I got the 1984 reissue when I was 11 as that was what was in the shops and it was cheap. My perception of Queen II comes from growing up with that record. I played it a lot.

I think the original UK Hot Space is a blinder. Along with The Game they are two of my favourite sounding Queen albums.

If possible, please try 2015 reissue of Queen - Queen II - I wonder what you think :)

I'm thinking of buying it. It's one of my favourite albums ever and the new cover looks fantastic. If there's a significant improvement in the sound it seems essential. Have you compared it to the 2011 CD remaster? I do like that.

Do you have the 2015 Innuendo vinyl? I've also been thinking of getting that as I only have the original edited vinyl and the 2011 CD. If you have it, please let me know what you think of it. Thanks.

I've never been a big fan of The Miracle. I was disappointed in it on release. It's entertaining enough though and my favourite tracks (Breakthru, Was It All Worth It) are classic Queen.

I like the 2015 reissue of Queen - Queen II better than this 1984 reissue of Queen - Queen II (Fame):

I bought the LP, CD singles, picture discs, cassette singles (!) and whatever came out at the time. Now, I don't think it's lasted as well. The singles are all great, and the first two tracks. The rest not so much. I remember a thing on BBC daytime about the making of the LP cover. This thread has inspired me to play 'Sheer Heart Attack', 'Queen', 'Queen II' and now 'The Game'.
I haven't bought any of the re-issues but I'm tempted by 'Innuendo' for the unedited tracks.

Hi  soundwise Queen II is the best of the reissues.

    Hello!
I've heard that about QII. I spent last year tracking down original copies of the 70's LP's. My girlfriend might start asking too many questions if more copies turn up! I don't have enough boxes to put all my LP's in when moving house. I carted them up the stairs and she put them on the shelving and I took the boxes back to fill up again.

"Why have you got two copies the same (The Game)?"
"One I bought when I got into Queen, one's an original copy I picked up last year."
"So you could sell one then?"
    "No."
"There's three of this one! (Queen)"
"The Fame re-issue is the first LP I ever bought. That one's a Japanese copy I picked up cheap. That's an original I picked up last year."
    "There's more here doubles here."
"You've got three Phil Collins LP's, one MC Hammer LP and two copies of the same Miami Sound Machine LP."

The MC Hammer LP ended up with her son, the rest are all safely filed away on the shelving. Even Phil Collins.

I may look into getting 'Innuendo' and take it from there. Then 'Queen II'!
