Does anyone know if and where I could download the the original releases of their albums? In particular I’m looking for rage for order and Promised Land. it seems like every where I look the only versions available are the 2003 remasters which I cannot stand. Especially promised land which just sounds like a mess to me.

As a second question, does anyone have an opinion on the hires download of Operation Mindcrime that is available on qobuz? I know it is the 2003 remaster but to my memory that was the one album that I don’t remember the remaster sounding that different.

I have been waiting for somebody to bring this subject up.
Been a fan of OM since its 1st release. Like many fans, l would love to hear a complete remix of this album, to sort that brittle sound.
l have the original mandate EMI release, the
music has a bit more space, than the 2003 remaster, however the 2003 has certain elements that prefer.

l couldn't believe my eyes, when the Hi Res version
recently dropped. Personally, l believe it's step up
in sound, lt is of course the 2003 remaster, but somehow being 24bit and the advances in DA
technology, it sounds better than the 2003 ,of
course it's all subjective, it's not all about dynamic range.

Yes. But we aren’t allowed to post about such things here.

There is no legal digital option for good sounding queensryche. That being said, they aren’t hard to find.

Alternatively get the used cds dirt cheap and just rip them?

This is the correct way to do this. The CDs are cheap used.

To be honest, l was only sharing my opinion on the items l own, and they where about the sound quality. HD tracks offer the 24bit version l was referring to.
