@action pact I have one more question, if you feel so inclined.

Regarding setting the height of the arm, do you have any advice on what you set it at? When the manual states "set the arm height so in playing position, it's perpendicular to the record" how should I check it's at the proper height? I know how to raise and lower the arm already.

    Thank you!

The answer really depends on the cartridge... some are best set so it's perpendicular to the record, others might sound better with the tail-end slightly lowered.

If you're not sure, perpendicular to the record is a pretty standard set-up arrangement. You can use something with a straight edge (razor blade, file card, etc.) to check.

Really appreciate the advice. I was getting some slight distortion even though everything was set up correctly, so I suspect it was due to azimuth/arm height. Thank you!

Hopefully the arm bearings don't have any dirt, burrs or oxidation...

Do you have any tips on how to clean the arm bearing? I have deoxit if that would help. Thank you.

Hmm, that's not my area of expertise... maybe a light sanding and some alcohol on a swab?
