In answer to the original question I really struggled with 'Mockingbird Time' by The Jayhawks when it was first released. Hopes were high for a return to the sound of the Olson era albums, especially after the duo album and tour. Somehow 'Mockingbird Time' felt half baked, less than the sum of the parts. I gave it a chance but barely went back to it for years. Now I pull it out occasionally and I always enjoy the experience, much more interesting than I gave it credit for. However I still prefer the Louris-led Jayhawks and have no desire to see Olson back in the fold (which seems highly unlikely anyway at this stage).

I'm a huge R.E.M. fan and could talk endlessly about my severe disappointment at the release of 'Around The Sun' but it brings back too many bad memories!
