FROM HIS OFFICIAL FACEBOOK PAGE On behalf of his family, it is with deep and profound sadness that we share the news of Jeff Beck’s passing. After suddenly contracting bacterial meningitis, he peacefully passed away yesterday. His family ask for privacy while they process this tremendous loss. From me personally - I've seen every tour except for one since 1972. My absolute favorite guitar player ... period.
goddam. very sobering news. getting used to this now unfortunately, but Jeff Beck....just wow. RIP Maestro.
Shocking news, oh wow. RIP to an absolute legend, he had an unistakeable and unique way around music and guitar playing
Terrible news. From the Yardbirds to the original Jeff Beck Group to 'Wired' and 'Blow By Blow' - the man was a legend. RIP Jeff Beck.
Oh man, what a legend. His work with The Yardbirds was next level, then onwards on his own, all the while being among the most influential guitarists of his era. I remember Alice Cooper saying at the Rock and Rock Hall of Fame induction that he has never lost the thrill of hearing a Jeff Beck solo. Well put. Rock Heaven has a new sheriff in town. One of my favorite things to watch is his salute to Les Paul that shows off his pickless skills on rockabilly and oldies, and this song from that is forever ingrained in my brain as an ode to those that have passed:
Utterly unique, impossible to imitate, a towering figure whose influence is incalculable. Sad day for those who love the guitar
We just saw him in Thousand Oaks, California in November He still had his fastball. I took this shot of him and Johnny Depp on stage
The other God. Now I wish I had paid $$$ to see him in Paris last year. That's a lesson, kids! And meningitis is scary stuff.
Jesus Christ, so it begins. I am gonna go listen to the live album with the Jan Hammer band in his honor. What a crappy way to start the year.
