I'm looking to discover new music so I hope by reading other people's rankings of their favorite bands I'll have an idea where to start.

    Murmur/Chronic Town

Yeah. It's pretty much in the middle. I love the album but hardly ever do I decide I want to listen to it.

It's hard for me to rank Deep Purple. Generally, I enjoy all their albums.

That's terribly hard to do for my favorite group, since I love all their albums (especially up through the makeup years) more or less equally. But since this stuff is always fun to ponder, here's my best attempt. For today...

This is not a completely comprehensive list of every single odd and ends compilation they've ever released, but it's fairly comprehensive...

    Kiss

The Ones I Would First Put In The "Desert Island Suitcase":

    1 Paul Stanley
    2 Alive II
    3 Love Gun
    4 Rock And Roll Over
    5 Destroyer
    6 Dressed To Kill

The Ones That Are Right Behind The First Batch:
    7 Alive!
    8 Unmasked
    9 Kiss
    10 Dynasty
    11 Double Platinum
    12 Hotter Than Hell
    13 Gene Simmons
    14 Peter Criss
    15 Ace Frehley
    16 Asylum

Very Good Albums Third In Line
    17 Creatures Of The Night
    18 Unplugged
    19 Animalize
    20 Music From The Elder
    21 Killers

    Good Albums Fourth In Line
    22 Lick It Up
    23 Hot In The Shade
    24 Revenge
    24 Crazy Nights

Not My Favorites, But If There's Room I Will Try And Squeeze Them In
    25 Psycho Circus
    26 Sonic Boom
    27 Monster
    28 Carnival Of Souls

That's just about my order for top Kiss as well... except that I haven't heard that Paul Stanley solo yet! Clearly I need to hear it...still looking for a cheap copy of the old Mercury cd.

Well, half the list are AC Newman solo albums, but I honestly can't tell much difference between his solo and New Pornographers, except that Shut Down the Streets kind of sounds like an electro folk album (or rather, a power pop guy trying to sound like folk... it's still a massively great record)
