APP clicked with me in the big way the first time the needle hit the vinyl in '73. Don't know why, but it just did... A Passion Play / Thick As A Brick (tie) Benefit Living In The Past
Can’t wait to get the stormwatch box while flawed it has some epic material on it. Probably my number four its the last vinyl I bought and the last of an era. Aqualung was the first lp I purchased and while it has a place in my heart I think I just got weary of it
I'm a little jealous to be honest. Tull is in my top 5, and I want to like it, but no dice. Part of it is the Hare lost his spectacles song, its just so cheesy. I know its supposed to be a period accurate comic break or whatever, but man its bad lol
The first three, w Stand Up at the top. Lost interest as they morphed into something a bit different. Maybe there were some other good ones, after I stopped paying attention? But Stand Up - loved it so much I hurried home on my school lunch break so I could play it...
Yes, that is true on Fridays and also whether dependent too. Whether the weather is cloudy, rainy, sunny, snowy. On any given day my choices could be different. Mood, time of day, time of year all influence my ability to choose. I guess I’m just having some fun and being a little bias brat. I’m sorry if I wrinkled any noses here. As a Tull fan I just enjoy most of the first decade best. I feel guilty picking only three as it slights the other albums. I’ll be quiet now.
I felt the same way when it came out, hated it, but now I love it. The Scottish / Welsh / Italian narrator cracks me up, the alliteration (or whatever it is) like "the newt knew too much", and the orchestration and other music is... well I enjoy it. There are other parts of the record that have some great moments also.
good subject! I love Tull...I am not alone....the 3 albums I listed are so great I find such pleasure in them since I was a teen...
