    1. Crest of a Knave – My first JT album (I came really late to the JT party) and usually the album that gets me into a band is the one that stays as my favorite
    2. Stand Up
    3. This Was

I do like what they became in the 70s when they discovered and perfected who they were as a band. But I prefer the first two albums as they were still in that process of exploring a bit.

I refuse to rate Tull by albums. I’ll rate them by year. The remixes have given us everything. Tull had 25 albums worth of unrepeated studio songs from 1968-84. These are the strongest years in the studio whether the album was strong or not due to lots of extra strong material.

    1971
    1972
    1973
    1974
    1977
    1978
    1979

These were pretty good years too.

    1969
    1970
    1976
    1980
    1982

I find 1975 tulls weakest year of this period. Not many strong melodies and not great production. 1968 is even better imo

I don't put on tull as much as i used to. So I can't accurately answer. I will say my favourite is thick as a brick.

(If War Child had originally included the outtakes over the lesser album cuts, it would have competed for Top Three)
