Looks like the most obscure 'official' Pink Floyd music is set for release. I have a copy of this film and IIRC there is approx. 17 minutes of Pink Floyd music in the film. The soundtrack is interesting but it really is best described as 'incidental' music. It was recorded at Sound Techniques Studios in London in early '68. What's interesting to me is that Syd Barrett was originally commissioned by the Committee filmmakers to compose a soundtrack to the film. Syd did record 15 minutes of music with other (non Pink Floyd) musicians days after the legendary PF gig that he wasn't picked up for. His soundtrack was rejected and the new PF lineup featuring David Gilmour was brought in to record the soundtrack.

BTW, the Arthur Brown bit in the film is cool but the less said about the film itself the better ;)

Not sure if many people are aware that the film "More" was issued on DVD in the UK last year by the BFI. A bit on the pricey side, though. Amazon UK has it for 18.99UK. No unreleased Floyd material there but, still good to have out on DVD. Haven't seen it since the '70s.

    Cheers,

Actually there is quite a bit of unreleased Floyd material on the More DVD. There is a song called Seabirds that was left off the soundtrack LP. Seabirds is an actual song ,not just incidental film music. It's a catchy number with lots of guitar and really should of been on the LP. The film also has alternate versions of Cymbaline, Up the Khyber and The Party Sequence. Cymbaline has Waters on vocals instead of Dave, IIRC Up the Khyber has much more organ and The Party Sequence is longer and more fleshed out with some Gilmour guitar that's missing on the LP.
