I just watched this flick and I liked-Adam Sandler's performance but it moved rather slow until near the end.

Not an Adam Sandler fan but I liked him in this. Wild , manic and over the top.

Hated it. Felt like someone crammed me into a sack and yelled at me for 2 hours...

It was quite intense. I wouldn’t watch it again but I’m glad I did see it. The last Sandler film I watched was Pixels, this one’s a bit different.

    :yikes:

I'm fine with "intense" - heck, "Se7en" is one of my all-time favorite movies!

"Gems" was just unpleasant and annoying. I don't necessarily need sympathetic characters, but I need interesting characters, and Howard and the rest were obnoxious jerks with nothing to make them compelling.

Oh, and the pretentious elements got on my nerves too, like that "Cosmos" opening and the weird allusions to "2001".

"Gems" seems like a movie that wants you to believe it's a lot smarter and more insightful than it is! :help:
